The Medium Vendeen Griffon is a rustic French pack hound, smaller than the Large Vendeen Griffon, with a harsh coat, a bearded face, and dropped ears.  The outline is that of a briquet (medium hound), built for dense cover.

A rough-coated French pack hound for woods work; wiry coat care, a hunting voice, and days measured in miles.

The Medium Vendeen Griffon, or Briquet Griffon Vendeen, is a French scenthound from the Vendee, used on roe deer, boar, and other game.  It sits in size between the Grand and the Basset Vendeen griffons.  The UKC classes it as a Scenthound.

Temperament

Moderate.

Health

The breed is generally hardy.  Ear infections and pad injuries are the common working-dog issues.
