The Slovakian Chuvach is a large, white livestock guardian with a thick double coat, a strong head, and dropped ears. The tail is well plumed and the outline is that of a rustic flock dog.

A white livestock guardian for cool land; a heavy coat, night barking, and no business as a city apartment dog.

The Slovakian Chuvach, or Slovensky Cuvac, is a flock guardian from the Slovak mountains. The white coat made the dog easy to see at night. The UKC classes it as a Guardian Dog.

Health

As with other large white guardians, hip dysplasia and bloat can occur. Do not exercise hard right after meals.
